Seoul Gangseo-gu 'Online Free Pass Learning Support for Out-of-School Youth'
Internet Lectures, Textbooks, Tablet PC Rental, and Internet Communication Fees Supported... Out-of-School Youth Aged 9 to 24 Can Apply Until Today, the 30th
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Noh Hyun-song) is promoting the ‘Online Free Pass Learning Support’ for youth facing difficulties due to school dropout.
This project aims to provide a customized learning environment for out-of-school youth who wish to prepare for their academic or career paths, supporting them to continue their studies consistently.
Applicants are out-of-school youth in Gangseo-gu (ages 9 to 24), and they can apply by filling out the learning support application form and sending it via email by the 30th of this month.
The application form can be downloaded from the Gangseo-gu Youth Support Center Kkumdeulim website.
Applicants can apply for subjects they wish to study, such as the qualification exam, certifications, or self-development (foreign languages, arts, and physical education). Final candidates will be selected through a review considering their willingness to learn.
Selected candidates will receive support for three months starting in October, including ▲course vouchers (online lectures and textbooks) ▲device rental (tablet PC) ▲internet communication fees.
If device rental or internet communication fees are not needed, applicants may apply for course vouchers only or for both course vouchers and device rental. However, lectures worth up to 200,000 KRW, the standard price for the qualification exam, will be provided, and any excess costs must be borne by the individual.
Depending on the application status, the program plans to support a minimum of 30 and a maximum of 80 youth.
The district will not only provide learning content support but also serve as a learning mentor by guiding youth through the entire learning process, from application submission to career counseling, helping them to succeed independently.
A district official said, “We support out-of-school youth’s learning not only for the qualification exam but also in certifications and self-development fields,” adding, “We will actively assist youth who are earnestly considering their career paths in returning to school and entering society.”
