Hong Jun-pyo: "The ruling party should withdraw the fast-track indictment and seek cooperation with the Corruption Investigation Office"
"Don't Trust the Prosecution, Trust the Corruption Investigation Office? ... If You Can't Trust the Blue House, What Should We Create?"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Hong Joon-pyo, former leader of the Liberty Korea Party, commented on June 7 regarding the High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Unit (Gong-su-cheo), saying, "Today, the ruling party leader again urges the opposition to cooperate with Gong-su-cheo," and added, "If you want to do that, first withdraw the prosecutions against current and former opposition lawmakers who were indicted under the fast-track procedure during the clashes in the 20th National Assembly when you yourselves passed that law, then seek the opposition's cooperation."
On the same day, Hong stated on Facebook, "The opposition has no reason to cooperate with that law," and said, "The phrase 'the pot calling the kettle black' applies here."

Hong also criticized, "If you don't trust the prosecution and create Gong-su-cheo, and then establish real estate watchdogs to divert attention from your own flawed real estate policies, then if the people don't trust the Blue House, what new institution should be created?" He called these actions "truly absurd."
