View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Suwan] When adult content was posted and then deleted on the Facebook page of Park Jae-ho, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea (Busan Nam-gu Eul), the People Power Party strongly criticized it as a "shameful overseas topic." Park's side explained that it was "not intentional but due to hacking or a mistake."
On the 7th, Hwang Gyu-hwan, deputy spokesperson of the People Power Party, said in a statement, "Park's office is only eager to evade responsibility by saying 'the member himself is not managing it, but a secretary is,' and 'it is unclear whether it was hacking or a mistake,'" emphasizing, "This is an inappropriate explanation. Regardless of the reason, an apology should come first."
Deputy spokesperson Hwang also mentioned the sexual crime case of former Busan Mayor Oh Keo-don. He pointed out, "Moreover, the citizens of Busan, Park's constituency, have already suffered great wounds due to former Mayor Oh's sexual crimes," adding, "The Democratic Party apologized and talked about preventing recurrence, but due to Park's incident and lax response, the public can only doubt the sincerity."
He continued, "Even now, Park should directly clarify the exact circumstances of the incident and bow his head in apology to the citizens of Busan and the public," urging, "The Democratic Party should also prepare specific and effective measures to prevent recurrence of sexual misconduct."
According to Park's side, at around 12:40 a.m. on the 6th, an adult video posted by a foreign blogger was displayed on Park's Facebook account for about 10 minutes before being deleted. Park's side explained that it was "not intentional but due to hacking or a mistake."
Currently, Park's side is investigating the exact circumstances of how this video was uploaded to Facebook.
