Pianist Joo Jin-seo Recital 'Debussy · Ravel · Chopin'
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] Pianist Joo Jin-seo will hold a solo recital titled "The Moment" at 3 p.m. on the 13th at Kumho Art Hall Yonsei.
Joo Jin-seo graduated as a full scholarship student from Yewon School, Seoul Arts High School, and Seoul National University with a bachelor's and master's degree in piano performance. He was later selected as a scholarship student at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in the United States, where he earned the Performer’s Diploma. He has won first place in the Piano Society Competition, second place in the Korean-German Brahms Association Competition, and first place in the American Protege International Competition, among others.
At this recital, Joo Jin-seo will perform Debussy’s Preludes Book 2, No. 5 "Bruyeres" and No. 12 "Feux d'artifice." He will then present three pieces from Debussy’s Images Book 1: "Reflets dans l'eau," "Hommage a Rameau," and "Mouvement." The program concludes with Ravel’s three-movement "Sonatine," Chopin’s "Fantasy," and "Ballade No. 1."
Joo Jin-seo is currently serving as a visiting professor at Suwon University and its graduate school, and is also on the faculty of Sunhwa Arts Middle School, Incheon Arts High School, Chungnam Arts High School, Kaywon Arts High School, and Suwon University Music Camp.
