2 Residents of Gaepo-dong, Gangnam-gu, and 1 Resident of Yeoksam-dong Confirmed with COVID-19
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the 5th, three new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Gangnam-gu.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases to 212.
Two residents of Gaepo-dong are family members living with a Gangnam-gu resident who was confirmed positive the day before.
Additionally, a resident of Yeoksam-dong tested positive this morning after undergoing specimen testing at the Gangnam-gu Public Health Center due to chills following contact with a confirmed case from another region.
Gangnam-gu conducted disinfection and quarantine measures around the residences and movement paths of the confirmed cases and is currently carrying out epidemiological investigations to identify additional contacts.
The health authorities warned that although the number of new daily confirmed cases and the proportion of patients with unknown infection routes are decreasing, ‘n-th generation infections’ related to churches in the metropolitan area and urban rallies continue, meaning the spread could resurge at any time.
Residents are reminded that reducing contact with others is the most effective preventive measure and are urged to actively comply with the government’s strengthened social distancing measures extended until the 13th.
Furthermore, Gangnam-gu plans to continuously monitor to ensure strict compliance with the mandatory mask-wearing policy within the district.
