King meets Chinese State Councilor: "No country can monopolize COVID-19 vaccines"

[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] Wang Yi, China's State Councilor and Foreign Minister in charge of diplomacy, reaffirmed China's position to share the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccine with the world.
At the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa emerging economies) foreign ministers' virtual meeting on the same day, Commissioner Wang said, "No country can monopolize the COVID-19 vaccine."
Earlier, Chinese President Xi Jinping stated in his May World Health Assembly speech that once China completes the vaccine, it will become a global public good.

Commissioner Wang said, "China values the needs of the BRICS countries' populations and will actively respond to them." At this meeting, he also proposed the establishment of a BRICS vaccine research and development center. Through this, the BRICS countries would cooperate in vaccine research, development, and production.
