"Truly Pitiful," Lee Jae-myung to Assemblyman Shin Dong-geun: "Please Be More Serious About the Harsh Lives of the People"
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Lee Jae-myung, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, advised Shin Dong-geun, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea (Incheon Seo-gu Eul), who criticized him by saying "The game is over, how pitiful" after Lee proposed an alternative to give 100,000 won per person as the second disaster relief fund, to be more serious about the "harsh lives and realities of the people."
On the 5th, Lee directly refuted through Facebook, saying, "Whether to provide 10 trillion won (800,000 won for a family of four) in disaster relief funds in cash to a selected few or to give it to all citizens in the form of local currency may be a game to Representative Shin, but it is a matter of survival for the people."
He continued, "Whether the game is over or just beginning will be revealed by time, but as a Supreme Council member of the ruling party, I think it would be better to be more serious about the harsh lives and realities of the people," delivering a direct blow.
Earlier, on the 4th, Representative Shin posted on SNS (social network service), "Disaster basic income is neither convincing in philosophy nor policy... Why can't you let go of it? The game is already over," adding, "To throw a proper punch, sometimes you have to step back. But if you step back too much, you can't throw a punch."
