Passenger Assaulted for Requiring 'Mask Wearing'... 50s Man Arrested and Sent for Trial for 'Subway Disturbance'
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A man in his 50s who assaulted passengers demanding mask-wearing on Subway Line 2 has been referred to the prosecution with a recommendation for indictment.
Seoul Yeongdeungpo Police Station announced on the 4th that they have sent Mr. A, a man in his 50s, to the prosecution under custody on charges of assault with a recommendation for indictment.
Mr. A is accused of assaulting two passengers who demanded that he wear a mask on a train passing near Dangsan Station on Seoul Subway Line 2 at around 7:25 a.m. on the 27th of last month. Mr. A took off the slippers he was wearing and repeatedly slapped the victims' cheeks and also choked them.
