[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Auction, operated by eBay Korea, is holding the ‘Auction Byeolmi’ promotion until the 6th, offering vegetables whose prices have soared due to unprecedented monsoon rains at discounted prices. Imperfect agricultural products are also available at special prices.
Auction Byeolmi is Auction’s representative fresh food promotion, introducing verified fresh foods with an average customer satisfaction score of over 4 points. Free returns are possible if customers are dissatisfied with the quality, and ‘Smile Club’ membership members receive additional free ‘bonus’ benefits.
First, exclusive discount coupons are provided. All Auction members receive a ‘10% overlapping discount coupon’ that offers up to 5,000 KRW off on purchases over 5,000 KRW. Smile Club members are additionally given a ‘12% overlapping discount coupon.’ Coupons can be downloaded three times daily during the event period. Customers purchasing fresh foods on Auction for the first time or with no purchase history in the past year receive an additional ‘30% overlapping discount coupon’ offering up to 7,000 KRW off.
This event features imperfect agricultural product ‘onions’ at special prices. Smile Club members receive an additional 500g as a bonus and can purchase it for 4,580 KRW.

Smile Club members receive an additional 500g bonus, making the final price 12,880 KRW. ‘Namhae Fresh Garlic (5kg/90~110 pieces)’, ‘GAP-certified Baby Vegetables (250g)’, and ‘Seocheon Mini Cucumbers (21 pieces)’, ideal for homemade pickles, are also available at discounted prices.
Additionally, in the ‘Taste Deal’ section for single-person households with small packaging, ‘Pesticide-free Mini King Oyster Mushrooms (1kg)’ are available at a Smile Club final discounted price of 5,100 KRW. In the ‘Preorder’ corner, where premium products selected by MDs are offered at discounted prices, the ‘Queen of Apples, Gyeongbuk Fresh Hongok Apple (2.5kg)’ is sold at a final discounted price of 10,550 KRW, and Smile Club members can purchase it with a 500g bonus for 10,280 KRW.
Shin Dongok, head of Auction’s marketing team, said, “Due to poor harvests and reduced shipments caused by weather disasters, agricultural product prices have become as precious as gold these days. We prepared this ‘Auction Byeolmi’ to offer fresh vegetables at special prices.” He added, “Since customers can receive carefully selected vegetables quickly and at reasonable prices, we hope this will ease their concerns about food costs at the dining table even a little.”
