Dobong-gu Rolls Up Sleeves for Safety and Health of On-site Workers
Continuous Safety Training Including Regular Worker Education and Supervisor Training for Worker Management and Supervision... Establishment of Industrial Accident Management Responsibility and Reporting System Including Preparation and Preservation of Industrial Accident Recurrence Prevention Plans
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Dobong-gu (Mayor Dong-jin Lee) has rolled up its sleeves to ensure the safety and health of field workers.
Currently, there are about 1,700 field workers employed at the district office and community service centers, including public officials (permanent contract workers), fixed-term workers, Hope Jobs, and local community jobs.
Starting in September, the district will focus on "Field Worker Industrial Safety and Health Management" to create a safe working environment and prevent industrial accidents for regular workers responsible for field tasks (cleaning, facility management, etc.) at the district office and community service centers.
The main initiatives include ▲establishing an industrial safety and health management system (appointing safety and health managers, supervisors, etc.) ▲regular meetings of the industrial safety and health management committee ▲conducting safety and health education for supervisors and field workers ▲performing risk assessments to identify workplace hazards ▲investigating musculoskeletal risk factors to prevent and manage workers' health impairments ▲and establishing a reporting system for industrial accident occurrences.
In particular, the district will focus on continuous safety education, including regular training for workers and education for supervisors who manage and oversee workers, to prevent industrial accidents.
Additionally, in the event of an industrial accident, the relevant department will immediately report to the competent authorities and prepare and preserve a plan to prevent recurrence, thereby establishing responsibility for industrial accident management and a prompt reporting system.

Mayor Dong-jin Lee of Dobong-gu said, "With the Industrial Safety and Health Act being fully revised for the first time in 30 years this year, interest in the working environment and safety and health management of field workers is increasing day by day. We will do our best to ensure that our field workers, who have been struggling due to COVID-19 recently, can work in a safe and pleasant environment."
