Jungnang-gu Operates Non-Face-to-Face 'Mindfulness-Positive Psychology' Program

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Gyeonggi) has actively engaged in psychological quarantine to support residents suffering from psychological distress such as stress and depression caused by COVID-19.
The district will conduct a non-face-to-face "Online Mindfulness" program from the 17th to November 26th to overcome the depressive and negative feelings caused by COVID-19 and to cultivate mental stability and strength.
The education will be held every Thursday from 5 PM to 7 PM, conducted as an online real-time video lecture, allowing participation via laptop, computer, tablet, or mobile phone.
This "Mindfulness-Positive Psychology" course consists of a total of 10 sessions, including ▲Understanding knowledge about the mind ▲Learning mindfulness meditation techniques ▲Daily mindfulness ▲Learning positive psychology techniques.
The program content includes training in mindfulness techniques that calm the mind by letting go of negative thoughts, objectively observing oneself, and developing insight for problem-solving. It is not a temporary or one-time healing but teaches skills to manage one’s mind in real life, enabling continuous health, happiness, and growth.
Anyone aged 18 or older residing in Jungnang-gu can participate, and applications are available until the 8th via the Jungnang-gu Public Health Center website → Internet Application/Registration Board.
For detailed program inquiries, guidance is available from 9 AM to 6 PM at the Todak Todak Mind Health Counseling Center.
Mayor Ryu Gyeonggi of Jungnang-gu said, “I hope this online mindfulness program will be an opportunity for residents to recover their bodies and minds exhausted by COVID-19,” and added, “We will put more effort into psychological quarantine for residents so that they can overcome this difficult time healthily.”

Since November 2018, the district has operated the "Todak Todak Mind Health Counseling Center," providing customized psychological counseling services. Additionally, since February, it has offered psychological support services including counseling, mental health assessments, and stress relief guidance for residents struggling with so-called "Corona Blue," receiving positive responses.
