Edit Your Own Shoes? 'Shoe Brand Edit Shop' Opens in Busan
Busan City Opens 'Padoble' at KT&G Sangsangmadang Busan
Shoe Store and Custom Shoe Experience Zone Established... Selling Over 20 Busan Brand Products
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] A ‘shoe editing shop’ that customizes shoe products according to individual preferences is emerging.
Busan City and the Busan Economic Promotion Agency’s Shoe Industry Promotion Center announced that the ‘Padoble (PADOBLE)’ shoe editing shop, which will become a new hub for shoe customization culture, will open on the 4th alongside the opening of KT&G Sangsangmadang Busan.
Shoe customization refers to customer-tailored made-to-order modifications or alterations made to ready-made shoes on sale to meet individual requirements.
Busan City and the Shoe Industry Promotion Center introduced the shoe editing shop incorporating shoe customization culture as part of the ‘Enjoy Shoes Busan’ project, a new initiative this year aimed at promoting and securing sales channels for small and medium-sized Busan brand shoe companies.
‘Padoble’ handles products from about 20 Busan shoe brand companies produced with excellent technology from the Busan shoe industry. It offers sneakers and custom lines that allow for personalized shoe designs at reasonable prices ranging from 20,000 to 100,000 KRW.
The meaning of Padoble (PADOBLE) combines ‘pado’ (wave), symbolizing the energetic city of Busan, with ‘able’ from the shoe industry’s ‘possibility,’ representing the infinite potential and dynamism of Busan shoe brands toward the global market.
Along with the sales space, the ‘Padoble Custom Shoes Lab’ will operate, designed to reflect the fashion demand of the younger generation who prefer unique personal designs.
This includes a custom shoes exhibition expressing creative designs on existing shoes and a system for on-the-spot custom shoe production and ordering, providing shoe customization services.
Additionally, a ‘Custom Shoe Room’ themed on custom shoes has been set up on the 7th floor ‘STAY’ guesthouse of KT&G Sangsangmadang Busan.
The entire room is decorated in a street graffiti style using color spray, creating a shoe customization-themed room unprecedented worldwide.
The opening event will be held online to prevent the spread of COVID-19. On the 3rd, from 3:30 PM to 5 PM, a live commerce shoe sales broadcast will be conducted, offering up to 50% discounts in real-time online sales on seven products from the Padoble store. Purchases can be made through the live shopping app ‘Grip.’
