[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Typhoon No. 9 'Maysak' moved into the East Sea near the southern coast of Gangneung around 6:30 a.m. on the 3rd.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the typhoon currently has a central pressure of 960 hPa and a maximum wind speed of 140 km/h, moving north-northeast.
Although the typhoon's influence will gradually lessen in the morning, very heavy rain and strong winds are expected mainly in the central region and Gyeongbuk until the afternoon.
In Gangwon-do and Gyeongsang-do, very strong winds reaching maximum instantaneous wind speeds of about 108 km/h will blow, and Gangwon Yeongdong will experience heavy rain around 60 mm.
There will be places with very heavy rain exceeding 250 mm, especially in the Gangwon Yeongdong area, which will be the last to exit the typhoon's influence zone, so precautions are necessary.
