Competition of 10 Excellent Administrative Innovation Cases... Utilizing Non-Face-to-Face Evaluation Teams to Prevent COVID-19 Spread
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yuseonghun) held the ‘2020 Geumcheon-gu Innovative Administration Best Practices Competition’ to discover and spread innovative administration.
In this competition, held for the first time this year, 10 outstanding administrative innovation cases selected through document screening and online voting competed among 21 cases submitted by each department.
The evaluation committee focused on creativity of content, citizen experience, effectiveness, and potential for dissemination during the presentation session that lasted over two hours to judge and decide the final rankings.
As a result of the evaluation, the grand prize was awarded to the Urban Regeneration Division’s ‘Mobility Convenience Improvement Project in the Hilly Area of Geumdong Elementary School.’
The excellence awards went to ▲ the Women and Family Division & the Child and Youth Division’s ‘COVID-19 Overcoming, Non-face-to-face Childcare Support and Care Program’ and the Flood Control Division’s ‘Sewer Management Innovative Administration Smart Rainwater Inlet’ project, while seven cases including the Public Relations and Digital Division’s ‘Geumcheon-gu Smart IoT Walkway Creation’ were selected for encouragement awards.
In particular, the grand prize-winning ‘Mobility Convenience Improvement Project in the Hilly Area of Geumdong Elementary School’ was recognized for actively and innovatively promoting work by establishing governance among the ‘Office of Education - School - Residents - Geumcheon-gu’ to resolve residents’ inconvenience caused by the closure of the existing resident passage within Geumdong Elementary School.
Meanwhile, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, this competition was conducted under strict quarantine rules such as ‘video message from the mayor,’ ‘online evaluation by staff evaluators,’ and ‘temperature checks and mask-wearing in the judging venue.’
