[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] The number of deaths from the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in South Korea increased by 2, bringing the total to 328.
According to the Central Disease Control Headquarters on the 2nd, a female patient in her 70s who was confirmed positive on the 16th of last month died while receiving inpatient treatment at Anseong Hospital of Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center.
Another female patient in her 70s also died on the same day at Busan Gijang Hospital. This woman was classified as a COVID-19 related death after testing positive in a diagnostic test postmortem.
As the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases has surged recently, the number of deaths is also increasing rapidly.

From the 20th of last month until noon today, 20 patients died from COVID-19 infection or were confirmed positive postmortem within two weeks. Regarding the age groups of the deceased, those in their 80s were the most with 9 people, followed by 7 in their 70s, 3 in their 90s, and 1 in their 60s, all elderly aged 60 or above.
