News has emerged that Jo Jun-gi, CEO of 'Travel Crazy,' who was hospitalized after posting a message hinting at an extreme choice, has regained consciousness. Meanwhile, some are reacting coldly, saying Jo's response was inappropriate. On the other hand, some netizens believe criticism should be restrained in such circumstances.
Jo runs the travel information channel 'Travel Crazy' and became known through social networking services (SNS) such as Instagram. However, recently, controversy erupted after he posted illegal sexual videos on SNS.
On the 29th of last month, Jo sparked controversy by uploading a video of homosexual intercourse on a post introducing the Yangtte Ranch in Gangwon Province on the 'Travel Crazy' account. As the controversy intensified, Jo announced his intention to resign as CEO of 'Travel Crazy' and stated he would take responsibility according to legal procedures.
However, around 11 a.m. on the 1st, Jo posted on his Instagram account, "I will no longer be a burden to anyone and will leave on my own path. Due to the COVID-19 situation, please hold the funeral with family only," hinting at an extreme choice.
He said, "I am very sorry to everyone. I will be selfish until the end, so hate and resent me," adding, "Please judge the incident solely on its own fault. I hope unnecessary causes and unnecessary harm do not occur."
He also posted his bank account number, saying, "When the crew starts anew, please give them much help and support."

On online cafes and communities, voices of criticism arose, saying, "The apology is too confident. It seems he doesn't think it's his fault," "Choosing an extreme act without paying for his sins is selfish and cowardly," "It would have been better to reflect and accept punishment; the response is disappointing," "He should have been careful with over a million followers," "As someone who loved 'Travel Crazy,' the CEO's behavior is regrettable," and "He should have apologized first to the victims harmed by the exposure of the videos."
On the other hand, some netizens said, "Excessive criticism pushed a person into a dangerous situation; it should stop," "Criticize when the situation improves," and "No life is one that can be taken lightly," urging restraint from excessive slander.
Earlier, around 11 a.m. on the 1st, Jo was found in an unclear state of consciousness at a location in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
He was discovered by rescue teams dispatched after a report from an acquaintance and was given emergency treatment including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) before being transported to a nearby hospital. It is reported that his breathing and pulse have returned.
The post was deleted as of 1 p.m. that day. Jo's Instagram was switched to private and is now deleted.
