IBK Industrial Bank, Foreigners-Only Website Wins 'Internet e-Corp Award 2020'
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] IBK Industrial Bank announced on the 2nd that its foreign customer-exclusive website won the Grand Prize in the Service Innovation category at the ‘Internet Echo Awards 2020’.
The ‘Internet Echo Awards’ is an awards ceremony hosted by the Korea Internet Professional Association and sponsored by the Ministry of Science and ICT, among others. It selects and awards digital services that have achieved excellent results in innovation, expertise, and other areas, contributing to the development of the internet ecosystem.
In April last year, IBK Industrial Bank completely revamped the IBK Global website to enhance convenience and accessibility for foreign customers. It was the first in the banking sector to apply the ‘responsive web service’ feature, launching a mobile website exclusively for foreigners, and expanded supported foreign languages from the existing 4 to a total of 12.
It also provides useful information for living in Korea. In partnership with the Korea Tourism Organization, Financial Supervisory Service, Danuri, and others, it offers e-books and videos containing lifestyle information such as restaurants, hospitals, tourist attractions, and financial information including how to use banks and insurance.

An IBK Industrial Bank official said, “We plan to revamp the foreigner-exclusive smart banking application as well,” adding, “We will continuously expand products, services, and supported languages for the increasing number of foreign customers to enhance their convenience.”
