[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] LG Electronics' 8K Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) TV has been recognized as the product that best demonstrates the performance of the American semiconductor company NVIDIA's graphics processing unit (GPU) 'GeForce RTXTM 30 series'.
On the 1st, NVIDIA showcased the performance of the GeForce RTX 30 series using the 'LG Signature OLED 8K (model: OLED88ZX)' during an online launch event. The GeForce RTX 30 series is a newly introduced GPU by NVIDIA, highly praised for its excellence in high-spec PC gaming.
NVIDIA highly evaluated the picture quality and features of LG OLED TVs and selected them as the product to demonstrate the latest GPU performance. The LG Signature OLED 8K controls each of its over 33 million pixels independently to deliver more delicate picture quality. It can also play 8K resolution content at a 60Hz refresh rate and supports a maximum bandwidth of 48Gbps (48 gigabits per second) to process video signals quickly.
Last year, LG Electronics collaborated with NVIDIA to be the first in the TV industry to equip LG OLED TVs with the graphics compatibility feature 'G-SYNC Compatible.' The G-SYNC Compatible feature synchronizes the refresh rate of the external device's GPU with the TV screen to minimize screen tearing and stuttering.
LG OLED TVs have received praise from overseas media as ideal gaming TVs, offering superior picture quality and response speed compared to LCD TVs, which are crucial for immersive gaming experiences.
The UK IT media outlet 'TechRadar' praised LG OLED TVs as "a benchmark product applying all the latest specifications and standards," adding that it "redefines the term flat screen."
The US review specialist media 'Reviewed.com' also commented on LG OLED TVs, stating, "They provide excellent motion handling for gamers and sports fans," and added, "If you plan to upgrade your gaming system, having the CX series in your living room will make you happy."
Matt Wuebbling, Head of GeForce Marketing at NVIDIA, said, "We are pleased to support the GeForce RTX 30 series GPU on LG Electronics' 2020 8K OLED TV," and added, "Gamers worldwide will be amazed by the realistic ray tracing and cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) performance when enjoying the latest 8K PC games on TVs powered by the GeForce RTX 30 series."
