View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The Nuclear Safety and Security Commission held a situation assessment meeting on the 1st regarding Typhoon Maysak, the 9th typhoon moving northward, to check the preparedness of nuclear facilities and activate the emergency duty system.
Chairman Eom Jaesik received a report on the preparedness inspection results by connecting via video the five regional offices in Gori, Wolseong, Hanbit, Hanul, and Daejeon, as well as Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power. They checked the readiness measures.

Chairman Eom urged, "Since the typhoon is expected to make landfall near Busan and pass through the Yeongnam region, please conduct more thorough on-site safety inspections at the Gori, Saeul, Wolseong, and Hanul nuclear power plants located in the Yeongnam area, and maintain the emergency duty system until the weather advisory is lifted."
