Baek Goon-gi, Mayor of Yongin, "Three Living Treatment Centers Designated Including Samsung International Business School"
[Asia Economy (Yongin) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province will additionally operate three locations, including Samsung C&T International Business Institute, as COVID-19 residential treatment centers.
On the 1st, Mayor Baek Gun-gi of Yongin announced through an online dialogue with citizens at the city hall briefing room, "Hanwha Life Life Park and Samsung C&T International Business Institute will be operated as residential treatment centers for mild COVID-19 patients starting from the 3rd, and SK Academy will be operated from the 4th."
Yongin City decided to disinfect the surrounding areas twice daily, in the morning and afternoon, to ensure the safety and alleviate the concerns of local residents near the residential treatment centers.
Mayor Baek also added, "Due to the increase in confirmed COVID-19 cases, in addition to the existing 1,100 staff managing self-quarantined individuals, 88 department heads at grade 5 public officials will be additionally deployed."
The city currently deploys about 1,100 employees on a rotating basis to manage self-quarantined and actively monitored individuals. However, as there have been difficulties in managing over 1,000 self-quarantined individuals with a one-to-many ratio, it was decided to deploy grade 5 department heads. Currently, there are 1,528 self-quarantined individuals in the Yongin area, and 46,823 people have been released from self-quarantine so far.
Mayor Baek also explained, "The home care system, which started on the 28th of last month, is expected to greatly help improve the efficiency of securing and operating treatment beds and reduce the anxiety of patients waiting."
