Another COVID-19 Infection Case Occurs Within the Military

At an Army unit in Daegu, following one Army officer testing positive on the 29th of this month, one additional soldier was confirmed positive. The officer was identified to have visited a religious facility where recent cases had occurred on the 23rd of this month.
At an Air Force unit in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, after four individuals were previously confirmed positive, one additional soldier tested positive. The two additional confirmed cases are presumed to have been infected by confirmed cases within the unit. Following the outbreak, COVID-19 tests were conducted on unit members, resulting in positive reactions, while all other members except for two tested negative.

Among the confirmed cases in the military, three individuals were declared fully recovered on the same day. Two soldiers from an Army unit in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi Province, and one civilian employee from an Air Force unit in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, have recovered. As a result, the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in the military has risen to 107, with 87 recovered. Twenty are currently undergoing treatment. According to health authorities, 1,011 individuals are in military quarantine, and according to the military's own standards, 2,960 are under preventive quarantine.
