Four SUV Occupants All Dead in Collision with US Military Armored Vehicle in Pocheon
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] In Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province, a sports utility vehicle (SUV) collided with a U.S. military armored vehicle, resulting in the deaths of all four occupants of the SUV.
According to the police on the 31st, at around 9:30 p.m. the previous day, an SUV crashed into a U.S. military armored vehicle near the Rodriguez Shooting Range (Yeongpyeong Shooting Range) on Yeongro Bridge in Pocheon City. Four people in their 50s (two women and two men) riding in the SUV were seriously injured and transported to the hospital, where they underwent cardiopulmonary resuscitation but ultimately died. One U.S. soldier riding in the armored vehicle sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.
The SUV’s engine compartment was so severely damaged by the impact that its shape was unrecognizable, and the armored vehicle’s right track was also dislodged.
This road is adjacent to the Rodriguez Shooting Range and is known as a route used by U.S. military tracked vehicles even at night.
