Dongbanwi-Hoban Group, '2020 Innovation Technology Contest' Held
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] The Win-Win Growth Committee announced on the 31st that it will hold the ‘2020 Innovation Technology Contest’ together with Hoban Group and the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) to discover innovative technologies in smart cities, AI, and construction fields.
The contest aims to discover small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups with excellent technologies and support the development of innovative technologies in the construction sector. It is jointly hosted and organized by the Win-Win Growth Committee, Hoban Group, and KITA.
The application fields include ▲ cost reduction, construction method improvement, and quality and safety innovation technologies ▲ construction information and communication technologies and specialized design ▲ smart city, artificial intelligence (AI), big data, energy, and environmental technologies ▲ construction utilizing Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies, and smart city technology cooperation project proposals.
SMEs and startups awarded the ‘Grand Prize’ will each receive 100 million KRW, and a total of 400 million KRW in technology development support funds will be provided to companies participating in the finals. The ‘Grand Prize’ winners will also be given opportunities such as investor relations (IR) presentations and technology consultation meetings.
Plan H Ventures, the accelerator corporation of Hoban Group, is also considering support linked to the TIPS program. The developed technologies will be pilot-applied at Hoban Group’s construction sites in the future.
After the contest, the Win-Win Growth Committee plans to actively support SMEs with excellent technological capabilities by providing opportunities for technology and purchasing consultations so that they can supply to large companies, utilizing the technology innovation win-win online platform.

Applications can be submitted until the 11th of next month through the Win-Win Growth Committee’s Sangsaengnuri site, Hoban Construction Innovation Technology Contest submission site, and the Korea International Trade Association’s Global Open Innovation platform site.
