Eco-friendly Venture O2M Completes Mask Production Facility... Collaboration with SK Inno
[Asia Economy Reporter Park So-yeon]SK Innovation announced on the 30th that its eco-friendly social venture partner, O2M, has completed mask production facilities in the Chogwang Industrial Complex in Hanam-si, Gyeonggi Province.
O2M is one of the four companies selected last year under SK Innovation's 'SV2 Impact Partnering Model.' It is a company that produces disposable oxygen masks based on NASA's astronaut breathing apparatus technology.
O2M had developed oxygen-generating mask technology and even held patents but was only producing small quantities through an Original Equipment Contractor (OEC) model due to lack of investment.
However, recognizing the social value of the mask industry, SK Innovation made its first investment last year, followed by additional investments, securing growth capital and completing the production facilities this time.
O2M's mask production facilities include one KF94 automated line and two dental mask automated lines, capable of producing 20,000 and 60,000 masks per day respectively, totaling 80,000 masks daily.
O2M supplies the masks produced here to SK Innovation's social enterprise and social venture product sales site, 'SK Hi Market,' as well as to major lung cancer wards and various fire stations.
