Suwon City Issues Administrative Order Banning Gatherings of 10 or More People... Imposes 3 Million Won Fine
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province has issued an administrative order banning gatherings of 10 or more people to quickly block the resurgence of COVID-19.
The period is from the 28th of this month until the 'Social Distancing Level 2' is lifted.
Under the administrative order, gatherings of 10 or more people are prohibited in the Suwon area, and if the gathering is not disbanded immediately after the order, a fine of up to 3 million won will be imposed.
The administrative order applies to gatherings of 10 or more people that are subject to notification under the 'Assembly and Demonstration Act.'
The city explained that, as confirmed COVID-19 cases are rapidly increasing in the metropolitan area and nationwide resurgence is feared, it proactively issued the administrative order in accordance with Article 49, Paragraph 1 of the 'Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act' to prevent the spread of group infections.

Persons who violate the order will be fined up to 3 million won under Article 80, Item 7 of the 'Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act.' In addition, if infection spreads due to violation of the order, quarantine costs and other expenses will be claimed.
