Haman-gun Upgrades Resident Convenience with Aragil Environmental Improvement Project
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Choi Hyun-joo] Gimhae County, Gyeongnam announced on the 28th that it will carry out an environmental improvement project on Aragil, created around Gaya-eup and Sanin-myeon, from September to November.
With a total project cost of 430 million KRW, this project will install a 111.6m long and 2m wide bicycle road connecting deck along the Hamancheon River section from Geomam-ri in Gaya-eup to Songjeong-ri in Sanin-myeon, and will also install restrooms for visitors' convenience.
Aragil, completed in October last year, is named after "Aragaya," symbolizing the historical significance of Ham-an, and covers a 19.3km section of the East-West Integrated Namdo Pilgrimage Trail in Ham-an, connecting the abandoned Gyeongjeon Line railway bed from Gunbuk-myeon to Sanin-myeon.
Among these, the 4.1km section from Gaya-eup to Sanin-myeon has been transformed into a complex cultural space where residents can enjoy rest and culture by creating rest areas, photo zones, walking trails, cultural yards, and bicycle roads.

A county official said, "Through this project, the Aragil bicycle road, which was disconnected by the Hamancheon River, will be connected, resolving visitors' inconveniences and enabling safer and more convenient use," adding, "We will continue to provide various convenience facilities so that Aragil can become a local attraction."
