[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Korea Productivity Center (KPC, Chairman Noh Gyu-seong) announced on the 28th that it will conduct job competency enhancement training for travel industry workers to overcome the crisis caused by the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
This training, conducted on a scale of 8,500 participants, targets 7,500 travel industry workers and 1,000 tourist interpreters and guides. A total of 17 training programs are offered across four themes: job competency enhancement, change management, future talent development, and tourist interpreters and guides. The training will be conducted online in a non-face-to-face format to suit the COVID-19 era.

The travel industry worker job competency enhancement training program will continue until November 25, and any worker wishing to take the training can apply through the travel industry worker job competency enhancement training project website. Multiple enrollments are allowed, but repeating the same course is not permitted. Due to first-come, first-served registration, early closure is possible, and the tourist interpreter and guide course is limited to those holding certification. The training fee is fully supported by government funding.
