Gyeongbuk Province Awards 'Gumi Electronics and Information Technology Institute' Top Prize at Job Creation Project Discovery Contest
Selected 5 Projects Including 'Non-Face-to-Face Job Support', Reflected in Next Year's Job Programs
About 250 employees of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Government, including Governor Lee Cheol-woo, participated in the "Thanks Challenge" on May 6.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Gyeongbuk Province announced on the 27th that it held the 'Gyeongbuk Province Excellent Job Creation Project Discovery Contest' at the provincial government’s Hwabekdang on the 25th and selected and awarded five projects.
The grand prize in this discovery contest was awarded to the 'Startup Company Non-face-to-face Job Support Project' proposed by the Gumi Electronics and Information Technology Institute.
The excellence awards went to two projects: the 'Gyeongbuk-type Smart New Deal Strategic Industry & Youth Talent Bank Win-win Support Project' proposed by the Gyeongbuk Pride Company CEO Association, and the 'Automotive Parts Employment-linked Convergence Company Support Project' jointly proposed by the Gyeongbuk Pride Company CEO Association and the Gyeongbuk Industry-Academia Convergence Headquarters.
The encouragement awards were given to the 'Collaboration Support Project for Overcoming the COVID-19 Crisis in Regional Key Industries' proposed by the Gyeongbuk Hybrid Parts Research Institute and the 'Support Project for Overcoming Crisis and Re-leaping of Gyeongbuk Automotive Parts Companies' proposed by the Korea Textile Machinery Convergence Research Institute.
Gyeongbuk Province selected the excellent job creation projects through a second round of PPT presentations at the contest, targeting 10 projects that passed the first round of document screening by experts out of a total of 19 job projects applied by cities, counties, and executing agencies.

Kim Ho-jin, Director of the Job Economy Office of Gyeongbuk Province, said, "Although it is a difficult time due to COVID-19, please make efforts so that the excellent projects discovered through this contest can actually be connected to jobs," and added, "Going forward, Gyeongbuk Province will do its best to discover jobs suited to regional characteristics through active collaboration with job-related organizations."
