Jeonnam Province Selected as a National Best Practice for 'Cultural Specialization Area Development'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] In this year's 'Balanced Development Project Evaluation' conducted by the Presidential Committee on National Balanced Development, Jeollanam-do's ongoing 'Cultural Specialization Area Development Project' was selected as an excellent case in the fields of cultural facilities and operations.
According to Jeonnam Province on the 27th, the balanced development project evaluation is conducted annually on projects supported by the local government balanced development special account for national balanced development, targeting projects recommended by cities and provinces.
This year, 46 excellent cases were recommended nationwide from cities and provinces.
Among them, the project selected from Jeonnam was the Damyang 'Dambitgil Creative Space Development Project.'
Various projects were promoted in the areas of Gaksa-ri and Jichim-ri in Damyang-eup, including the creation of the Dambitgil Creative Space, establishment of the Radio Star Studio, development of the Haedong Culture and Arts Village, and remodeling the old official residence into a humanities house (cultural branch).
The evaluation committee highly praised the project for effectively highlighting Damyang's unique identity by utilizing local cultural and historical resources, creating a creative space suited to the region, and incorporating distinctive cultural and artistic programs based on this foundation.
As a result of being selected as an excellent case, Jeonnam Province will receive incentives such as awards and budget support, and will be included in the excellent casebook published by the National Balanced Development Committee, enabling nationwide promotion.
