Iksan City, Dailoum 'Payback' Chuseok Surprise Event
Excluding 10 Companies Including Jun-Dae Hyang Mart
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Tae-in] Iksan City, Jeonbuk, is expanding the ‘Dairom’ payback event to revitalize the local economy and neighborhood businesses, which have been stagnated due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the city on the 27th, a surprise event will be held for the Chuseok holiday, implementing a ‘payback’ from next month 1st to October 4th, lasting 34 days.
During this period, 10% of the amount used (paid) with ‘Dairom’ will be returned as Dairom points up to a total limit of 500,000 KRW. The payback payment is scheduled around October 20th.
However, to revitalize the small business neighborhood economy, ‘Dairom’ can be used at quasi-large marts, Nonghyup marts, and large hospitals ranked in the top 10 average payment amounts from January to July, but these are excluded from the payback benefits.
The 10 places excluded from payback are Mart Day (Mohyeon-dong), Eommart (Dongsan-dong), Xmart (Busong-dong), Woori Home Mart (Busong-dong), Wonkwang University Hospital, Iksan Agricultural Cooperative Parkers Market (Eoyang-dong), Iksan Agricultural Cooperative Hanaro Mart (Mohyeon-dong), Iksan Hospital, Iksan Horticultural Cooperative Local Food Direct Store (Yeongdeung-dong), and Iksan Horticultural Cooperative Hanaro Mart (Mohyeon-dong).
The city plans to inform citizens about the 10 payback-excluded businesses through the city website and Iksan Dairom app pop-up windows.
The payback was implemented from April to June and played a significant role in stimulating consumption and activating the use of local currency, receiving great responses from citizens. Accordingly, there were many requests from citizens to reinstate the payback system in the second half of the year.
This project had many difficulties due to the heavy budget burden as it had to be fully funded by the city, but it was implemented as national funds were additionally secured for the local currency incentive budget in the second half of the year.
In addition, from next month, the city will restrict the 10% additional accumulation incentive purchase benefit for users who purchase but do not use ‘Dairom’ if their balance exceeds 3 million KRW to promote local economic consumption. In this case, users must use their balance before purchasing more ‘Dairom’.
