Errand Services Including Laundry Pickup Available
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] The delivery war in the distribution industry is intensifying due to the impact of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). Offline stores are serving as bases for 'instant delivery' within one hour, countering the dawn delivery services of online distribution companies.
According to the distribution industry on the 27th, Galleria Luxury Hall Food Hall Gourmet 494 will launch a premium concierge service called 'Kim Jipsa Black' starting next month on the 1st. Galleria has expanded into the area of running errands on behalf of customers. The service targets customers living in apartments within 1.5 km of Galleria Luxury Hall, and orders placed via the mobile app from 10:30 AM to 8:00 PM on weekdays will be delivered within one hour. Galleria's strategy is to differentiate itself by advancing beyond existing delivery services in the industry through real-time market shopping, deployment of professional personnel, and 'customized service' via the Kim Jipsa concierge service.
Through the 'market shopping service,' premium ingredients sold at the food hall and popular restaurant dishes located in Gourmet 494 are delivered. To focus on Gourmet 494's strength in premium fresh food, separate personnel are assigned for product picking (picker) and delivery (butler) to enhance expertise. The differentiating factor is the 'concierge service.' Customers can request details such as meat thickness and degree of doneness through real-time one-on-one chat with staff. If errands such as visiting pharmacies outside the department store or picking up laundry are needed, customers can add detailed requests. Deliveries are made using Kim Jipsa's electric bicycles. The market shopping service costs 5,000 KRW per order.
From today, Lotte ON has expanded its 'One-Hour Delivery Jamsil' service products to over 600 daily necessities. Customers can order about 50 meal kit products including Lotte Mart's ready-to-cook 'Yorihada,' as well as beauty and health products such as mask packs and cleansing items, and receive them within one hour. Delivery is available even for a single item by paying the delivery fee. Service hours are from 11:00 AM to 1:00 AM. This allows customers to receive urgently needed daily necessities immediately even late at night. Earlier, Lotte ON has been delivering over 120 products from four brands including Lotteria, Angel-in-us, and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts within one hour since last month. With the expansion of products, Lotte ON expects the average daily order volume to triple.
Hyundai Department Store Trade Center Branch also introduced 'Baro to Home' earlier this month, a food delivery service that delivers freshly prepared food from 50 specialty restaurants and deli brands within a 3 km radius directly within one hour. Customers can add bakery items from the first-floor bakery and specialty dishes from the 10th-floor restaurant area to their cart and pay together for a single delivery. Hyundai Department Store plans to expand the target stores and delivery areas.
