Lotte Duty Free Launches Support Comment Campaign for COVID-19 Medical Staff
Partial Proceeds from Online Sales of Duty-Free Stock Used to Create 'Ma-eum Bangyeok Kit'
Customers Awarded via Support Comment Draw and Kits Delivered to COVID-19 Frontline Medical Staff
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] Lotte Duty Free announced on the 27th that it will conduct a social network service (SNS) support comment campaign to express gratitude to medical staff fighting the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
The event, which will be held for three days starting today, allows participation by writing supportive comments for COVID-19 medical staff on Lotte Duty Free’s official SNS channels such as Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. Among the participants, winners will be selected by drawing to receive the ‘LDF Mind Quarantine Kit.’
The ‘LDF Mind Quarantine Kit’ was produced using a portion of the proceeds from the online sales of surplus duty-free products conducted by Lotte Duty Free until August. It consists of functional T-shirts, tumblers, grip-toks (smartphone finger holders), and support messages. The functional T-shirts are made of materials that facilitate sweat evaporation so they can be worn under protective suits. In addition to giving these kits to customers, Lotte Duty Free plans to personally deliver them to nurses, COVID-19 medical staff, and quarantine officials to express their gratitude.

The T-shirt design was created through a talent donation by the famous British pop artist ‘Steven Wilson.’ The relationship between Lotte Duty Free and Steven Wilson began when he designed the emblem commemorating the 40th anniversary of Lotte Duty Free’s founding. The commemorative emblem, which depicts 40 different balloons, won the ‘Winner’ award in the ‘Brand Design & Identity’ category at the ‘Red Dot Design Award,’ one of the world’s top three design awards, on the 3rd of this month.
