Gwangjin-gu, Strengthened Social Distancing Level 2 On-site Inspection of Multi-use Facilities
Suspension of Operation for 12 High-Risk Facilities, Mandatory Quarantine Rules for High-Risk Multi-Use Facilities
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Seon-gap) has been conducting intensive on-site inspections of multi-use facilities in the area starting from the 19th, in accordance with the government's 'Social Distancing Level 2 Follow-up Strengthening Measures.'
According to this measure, 12 types of high-risk facilities such as indoor national and public facilities, singing practice rooms, and PC cafes must completely suspend operations. Some high-risk multi-use facilities such as religious facilities and indoor sports facilities are required to enforce quarantine rules such as managing visitor logs and mandatory mask-wearing.
The district formed inspection teams of two people each, consisting of public officials, Gwangjin-gu Sports Council, and sports club officials. From midnight on the 19th, when the follow-up measures began, they directly visited 458 high-risk facilities in the area to deliver notices of operation suspension.
The inspection teams plan to continue visiting high-risk facilities twice a week until these measures are lifted to check compliance with the suspension of operations.
Additionally, quarantine rule mandatory notices were sent by mail to 665 high-risk multi-use facilities such as religious and indoor sports facilities. The district plans to focus administrative efforts on preventing the spread of COVID-19 in the community through surprise on-site inspections and administrative guidance.
District Mayor Kim Seon-gap said, "The number of confirmed cases nationwide remains at 200 to 300 daily, and the situation is severe with a rapid increase in local infections. We hope that high-risk and multi-use facility officials will actively cooperate and that each resident will participate in quarantine efforts so that we can overcome this crisis together."
The district will impose fines of up to 3 million won on multi-use facilities that do not comply with the measures and will charge treatment and quarantine costs if confirmed cases occur.
