COVID-19 Case Confirmed at SBS Mokdong Headquarters... Temporary Closure of Headquarters
[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] On the 25th, a confirmed case of COVID-19 occurred at the SBS Mokdong building, and an epidemiological investigation is underway.
According to health authorities on the day, a subcontractor employee working at the SBS building in Mokdong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul tested positive. The employee, who works in the SBS New Media News Department, worked until the afternoon of the 21st and developed a fever on the 23rd, after which they did not come to work this week. SBS is coordinating with quarantine authorities to identify the employee's movements and contacts within the company last week and is conducting building disinfection.
Although concerns were raised about disruptions to broadcasting since the confirmed case works on the same floor as the news department, the first investigation found no significant issues, and regular programs such as the 8 o'clock news are expected to proceed without interruption.
