Typhoon 'Babi' Approaching North... "Massive Flight Cancellations Expected in Jeju on the 26th"
[Asia Economy Reporter Woo Su-yeon] Due to the impact of Typhoon No. 8 'Bavi,' flights to and from Jeju are expected to continue being canceled from the night of the 25th.
According to Korea Airports Corporation and others on this day, a total of six flights, including Korean Air KE1289 scheduled to depart from Gimpo Airport at 7:40 PM, canceled their flight plans as a precautionary measure due to the typhoon. As of 4:30 PM, a wind shear (gust) advisory is in effect at Jeju Airport.
On the 26th, when Typhoon Bavi is expected to make landfall on the Korean Peninsula, most flights to Jeju are anticipated to be canceled. Air Seoul, Fly Gangwon, Hi Air, and Jin Air have canceled all flights scheduled to operate between Jeju and other regions on the 26th.
Asiana Airlines has preemptively canceled all flights except those scheduled after 9:30 PM. T'way Air, Air Busan, Jeju Air, and Korean Air have not yet announced cancellations, but additional cancellations are possible depending on the typhoon's impact.
