Hanssem Donates 500 Million Won for Flood-Affected Residents and Small Business Owners' Damage Recovery
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] Comprehensive home interior company Hanssem announced on the 25th that it will donate 500 million KRW to the Rural and Fisheries Win-Win Cooperation Fund (hereinafter referred to as the Win-Win Fund) to the Foundation for Large, Small, and Medium Enterprises and Agriculture and Fisheries Cooperation (hereinafter referred to as the Cooperation Foundation) to support residents affected by flood damage caused by the monsoon season.
This donation, made through both fund and in-kind contributions, will be used for recovery efforts and support activities for marginalized groups, including agricultural product sales channels and food support targeting special disaster areas affected by unprecedented prolonged monsoon rains.
Through this, Hanssem plans to provide furniture and interior improvements, goods support, and home care disinfection services to residents who lost their homes and livelihoods due to flood damage, as well as small merchants in traditional markets.
Earlier in March, Hanssem donated 1 billion KRW as emergency relief funds for vulnerable groups affected by COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease 2019), strengthening its social responsibility and win-win management.
Kang Seung-soo, Chairman of Hanssem, said, "We hope that through the Win-Win Fund, residents of rural and fishing villages affected by flood damage will regain their livelihoods and return to healthy daily life."

Meanwhile, the Win-Win Fund is based on the amended 'FTA Agriculture and Fisheries Act' of 2017, which supports rural and fishing communities and farmers and fishermen who have been or may be affected by FTAs (Free Trade Agreements). Every year, private companies, public enterprises, the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation, and the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives participate in its establishment. The Foundation for Large, Small, and Medium Enterprises and Agriculture and Fisheries Cooperation was established to promote cooperative projects such as technology, manpower, and sales channels between large, small, and medium enterprises and agriculture and fisheries, discover excellent cooperation models, spread a culture of mutual growth, and support the establishment of fair trade relationships.
