Chinese Ambassador to Korea Xing Haiming Donates $20,000 to IVI
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Xing Haiming, the Chinese Ambassador to Korea, donated $20,000 to the International Vaccine Institute (IVI) to support research and development of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
According to the Chinese Embassy in Korea on the 25th, Ambassador Xing visited IVI and stated, "On behalf of the Chinese Embassy in Korea, I want to contribute to the vaccine research and development efforts," adding, "We will actively promote in-depth exchanges with IVI."
In response, Jerome Kim, Secretary-General of the Vaccine Institute, expressed gratitude for the donation and said, "We hope China will become a financial supporter of IVI and a key partner in vaccine and vaccine research diplomacy."
