Dongdaemun-gu Provides Free Flu Vaccinations for Long-term Care Workers
Real Cost Support for Quadrivalent Influenza Vaccination for Long-term Care Workers Aged 61 and Under... Preventing Influenza Transmission to the Elderly
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor You Deok-yeol) is providing free flu vaccinations to long-term care workers to improve the quality of elderly care services and enhance the treatment of long-term care personnel.
Long-term care workers have a high risk of transmitting the flu to high-risk elderly individuals, but those under the age of 61 are excluded from the national free vaccination program.
The district announced that it will support free flu vaccinations to ensure that long-term care workers at care institutions receive flu shots, thereby improving the quality of elderly care services and guaranteeing the health rights of long-term care personnel.
The district will cover the actual cost of the quadrivalent flu vaccine, and the vaccination period is from September 1 to November 10.
The eligible recipients are long-term care workers employed in Dongdaemun-gu who were born on or after January 1, 1959, are 61 years old or younger, and are currently working at long-term care institutions as of the application date for the flu vaccination fee.
Long-term care workers may receive vaccinations at a hospital of their choice or at a hospital contracted with their long-term care institution. If vaccinated at a hospital of their choice, they must pay the vaccination fee out of pocket and later submit a detailed medical expense statement to their affiliated institution to claim reimbursement.
