Black Man Critically Injured in US Police Shooting... Curfew Imposed Amid Protest Demonstrations
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Another incident occurred in the United States where a Black man was critically injured after being shot by police.
According to major foreign media, on the 23rd (local time) around 5 p.m., Black man Jacob Blake was transported to a hospital after being shot by police in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The man was reportedly unarmed at the time.
The Kenosha police did not provide specific details about the shooting other than stating they had responded to a "domestic issue." In footage capturing the incident, the man is seen walking toward a parked vehicle and opening the driver's door, at which point one of two police officers following him fired a gun in his direction.
As the video of the incident spread on social media, protests by citizens continued. During the protests, a fire also broke out, and as the situation worsened, authorities imposed a citywide curfew until 7 a.m. the following day.
