On the 24th, according to the Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency, they received a tip that a man known as Pastor A had accepted money and valuables, promising to secure employment at the Kia Motors Gwangju plant, and have begun an official investigation.
Victims reportedly paid up to 70 million won in bribes to request employment, with a total of about 600 people involved and approximately 20 billion won in total.
The police currently believe two individuals are involved and are working to apprehend those who have gone into hiding.
