The city's integrated CCTV control center reported to 112 after discovering the car thief breaking into a parked vehicle in Sangnam-dong through real-time monitoring early that morning.
According to the city, a CCTV control operator spotted a man looking around and pulling open the door of a parked car in a residential area near Sangnam Park around 1:40 a.m., immediately reported to 112, and, together with the dispatched police, apprehended the car thief near the park.
Throughout this year, the city CCTV control center has apprehended a total of 15 offenders in the act, including theft and car break-ins, through real-time video monitoring.
