View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] Due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), outings and visits for conscripted police officers (Uigyeong) nationwide will be restricted for two weeks.
The National Police Agency announced on the 24th that outings and visits for Uigyeong nationwide will be suspended until the 6th of next month. Following the upgrade of social distancing to Level 2 by health authorities, the police had already restricted outings and visits for Uigyeong belonging to metropolitan police agencies (Seoul, Incheon, Southern Gyeonggi, Northern Gyeonggi) starting from the 18th of this month, and from the 21st, the same restrictions were applied to Uigyeong under the Busan Police Agency.
With this measure, the restrictions on outings and visits have been expanded to all Uigyeong nationwide. However, leaves, overnight stays, and hospital visits accompanied by commanders will proceed as usual. For Uigyeong engaging in off-base activities, strict compliance with quarantine management guidelines before, during, and after departure is required.
