This lecture was based on various international experiences from visiting countries around the world, providing the residents with the purpose of returning to farming and rural life and the direction of the rural tourism industry.
On this day, Dr. Park Young-il introduced Japan's representative rural tourism industry, which he personally visited and analyzed.
Farm Tomita (ファ?ム富田), the core of Japan's rural tourism farms visited by about one million visitors annually, is a representative rural tourism farm located in Hokkaido (北海道), Japan.
60-80% of visitors come in June and July to see the lavender flower fields, and the farm is equipped with a system that allows visitors to enjoy flowers throughout the year, not just lavender.
Farm Tomita produces various natural products made from lavender oil, such as soap and perfume, through the lavender oil extraction process, generating annual sales of 8 billion KRW, making it a representative farm.
Through this case, a development direction for domestic agricultural policy and a blueprint for a sustainable rural tourism industry were presented.
