On the 24th, Samsung Electronics announced that dryer sales last month grew by more than 60% compared to the same month last year.
Among the total sales of Samsung Electronics dryers (9, 14, 16, and 17kg), the proportion of large-capacity models of 14kg or more reached 94% last month, setting a record high. The share of large-capacity sales, which was around 85% last year, is continuously expanding.
Following the 14kg and 16kg models, Samsung Electronics introduced a new 17kg model domestically for the first time in July. The 17kg dryer has gained high popularity, surpassing 10,000 units sold within about a month after its launch.
Especially this summer, with the longest rainy season on record, it became difficult to dry laundry both outdoors and indoors, leading to an increase in consumers purchasing large-capacity dryers.
The Samsung Grande Dryer AI features 360 air holes on the back of the drum that create abundant airflow to dry large amounts of laundry evenly and quickly. Additionally, the heat exchanger, which tends to accumulate dust, can be easily maintained by consumers themselves, which is a key advantage.
Moreover, Samsung dryers released domestically this year are the only ones in Korea to achieve the highest energy efficiency rating (Grade 1) across all capacities of 9, 14, 16, and 17kg. Through the 'Top Efficiency Home Appliance Rebate Program' implemented by the Korea Energy Agency, consumers can receive a 10% refund on their purchase cost, which is also cited as a factor contributing to their popularity.
