Three Confirmed COVID-19 Cases in Hwasunseo, Jeonnam
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Young-gyun] Three new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gu Chung-gon).
According to Hwasun-gun on the 22nd, three residents living in Neungju-myeon were diagnosed positive the day before. They have been classified as Jeonnam cases number 59, 60, and 64.
The 59th confirmed case in Jeonnam has no overlapping movement with previously confirmed cases, and the infection route has not yet been identified.
The 60th confirmed case is the wife of the 59th case, and the 64th confirmed case is a resident of the same village as the 59th case.
Immediately after receiving the final positive notification, Hwasun-gun urgently transferred the 59th case, who was under self-quarantine, to Chosun University Hospital in Gwangju, and the 60th and 64th cases to Suncheon Medical Center for isolation and hospitalization.
The 59th confirmed case visited a hospital located in Hwasun-eup on the 20th due to flu-like symptoms. Suspecting COVID-19 infection, the individual underwent diagnostic testing at the Hwasun-gun Public Health Center screening clinic around 1:40 PM and received the first positive notification around 7:30 AM on the 21st.
The county conducted diagnostic tests and imposed self-quarantine on 25 contacts (23 in Hwasun and 2 in Gwangju), and urgently disinfected and temporarily closed the hospital, restaurant, and pesticide store visited by the confirmed cases.
Since the infection route of the 59th confirmed case is unclear, Hwasun-gun requested a secondary diagnosis from the Jeonnam Health and Environment Research Institute and received the final confirmation.
