[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Yongcheol] Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 21st that it will suspend the operation of public multi-use facilities and job projects from the 22nd to September 4th due to the occurrence of COVID-19 confirmed cases in the metropolitan area and nearby regions.
A total of 489 public facilities will be suspended, including △455 welfare facilities such as senior citizen centers, 9 cultural facilities, △16 sports facilities including Boseong National Sports Center, △3 tourist facilities such as Yulpo Seawater Green Tea Center, Korea Tea Museum, Botjae, and △4 marine facilities including Yulpo Pine Forest Beach, Myeonggyo, Gunhak, Janggunjae sandy beaches, and Deukryang Bay Fishing Park.
Jeamsan Natural Recreation Forest and the Jeonnam Environmental Disease Prevention and Management Center will close starting from the 24th after accommodating weekend guests who have already made reservations.
Since nearly 2,000 people are engaged in job projects such as village environment maintenance and public forest cultivation, these projects will be suspended to prevent large gatherings and to prevent COVID-19, with plans to decide on resumption depending on future circumstances.

County Governor Kim Cheol-woo said, “The suspension of public facility operations and job projects is a decision made for the safety of our residents as the metropolitan area has entered social distancing level 2 and confirmed COVID-19 cases continue to occur in nearby areas,” adding, “As contacts are increasing due to overlapping movement paths between confirmed cases in nearby areas and Boseong residents, we ask that you refrain from visiting other regions on weekends as much as possible and avoid small gatherings such as family meetings.”
