Asahi Publishing recently posted on its website regarding the republishing news of Hyun Bin's photo book, stating, "Regarding 'Hyun Bin, Every Day in the Marine Corps,' which was scheduled for release by our company on September 7, 2020, the Korean publisher holding the original rights requested to terminate the translation and publishing contract."
They added, "Therefore, the Japanese edition's release has been stopped," and apologized, saying, "We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to many who were looking forward to the publication. We are sorry."
Previously, the photo book was published domestically in 2012 as an e-book titled "The Beautiful Man, Hyun Bin's 'Marine Diary.'"
Later, in 2014, it was published as an offline photo book through a contract with a Japanese publisher.
Recently, with the popularity of the tvN drama "Crash Landing on You," starring Hyun Bin, in Japan, news emerged that the photo book was scheduled for re-release in Japan on the 7th of next month.
However, upon hearing the news of the photo book's republication, Hyun Bin's agency VAST Entertainment stated on the 20th, "We cannot agree to the republication of the photo book, which was shot for the public interest purpose of promoting the Marine Corps," and warned of a strong response, saying, "Republishing the same photo book years after its initial release is an attempt to seek private gain by riding on the drama's popularity."

Following Asahi Publishing's decision to halt sales, Hyun Bin's agency said, "We requested the Korean publisher to control the publication related to the Marine Corps photo book. We have obtained a written agreement to not only stop this republication but also to refrain from releasing related materials in the future," and added, "With the release stopped, we will not pursue the previously announced legal actions."
