[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Bong-ju] A cluster infection of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) at Sarang Jeil Church located in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, has spread to a music practice room in Seocho-gu, Seoul, resulting in at least two confirmed cases.
According to health authorities on the 20th, a woman in her 20s, confirmed as patient number 7 in Dangjin, Chungnam, on the same day, is believed to have been infected while practicing for about an hour at a music practice room in Seocho-gu on the 16th.
Another trainee residing in Seoul who practiced at the same music practice room was also confirmed positive on the 20th.
Earlier, on the 19th, the mother of the Seoul-residing trainee was confirmed positive for COVID-19, and it was revealed that she had visited Sarang Jeil Church.
This is the second confirmed case where a cluster infection originating from Sarang Jeil Church has spread to a music practice room.
Previously, a student from Seoul Arts High School, who was confirmed positive from Sarang Jeil Church, infected one student and one member of the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra during personal lessons at a school in Jongno-gu and the practice room.
