LG Electronics Reports COVID-19 Case at Gasan R&D Campus... Building Closed
One Research Institute Staff Member Tested Positive This Morning
[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] A confirmed case of COVID-19 has occurred at LG Electronics' Gasan R&D Campus. This comes just three days after an employee working at the LG Seoul Station Building tested positive for COVID-19.
According to LG Electronics on the 20th, one employee at the Appliances Research Lab located in the Gasan R&D Campus in Geumcheon-gu, Seoul, tested positive for COVID-19 that morning.
The employee was classified as a close contact of a confirmed COVID-19 case the previous day, was pre-quarantined, and had completed testing.
LG Electronics will disinfect the entire building where the confirmed case occurred and close it until the end of this weekend. About 100 employees on the 14th floor, where the confirmed case was found, will work from home starting today and undergo COVID-19 testing.
Previously, on the 17th, an employee at the LG building located at Seoul Station tested positive for COVID-19. On the 15th, a confirmed COVID-19 case was also reported at LG Display's Paju plant, an affiliate of LG Group.
