Nowon-gu, Multiple Confirmed Cases Occur, Gathering Restrictions Imposed on Andiok Church in Gongneung-dong
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Nowon-gu (Mayor Oh Seung-rok) has issued a gathering restriction order for Antioch Church located in Gongneung-dong, where COVID-19 cases were confirmed during a retreat.
Antioch Church held a retreat event from the 13th to the 15th in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi-do, with 60 congregants participating.
Upon recognizing that confirmed cases occurred during the retreat, the church voluntarily requested testing at the Nowon-gu Public Health Center.
The district conducted comprehensive testing not only for retreat attendees but also for all congregants, resulting in 16 confirmed cases as of the 18th. Among them, 8 are residents of Nowon-gu.

On the afternoon of the same day, Mayor Oh Seung-rok visited the church and directly posted the gathering restriction order on the entrance door, stating, “Recently, COVID-19 cases have surged in densely populated facilities such as religious institutions and coffee shops, creating a very serious situation.” He urged, “Please refrain from gatherings, practice social distancing, and make wearing masks a habit during outdoor activities.”
